How to Use Encryption
We are here to protect your invention and confidential information. We use encryption to transmit patent applications or otherwise communicate with the USPTO over the Internet. We use encryption with Private PAIR, a USPTO tool that allows us to instantly check the status of a client's patent application. The USPTO considers unencrypted transmissions over the Internet to be unsecure. So do we.
We encourage our clients to use encryption when sending information over the Internet. Protecting the information of our clients is so important that we help our clients use encryption at no charge.
To send an encrypted message to us, you need to obtain and use our public encryption key. The concept is that simple.
Our public encryption key may be downloaded by going to Verisign. The key should be saved in your email program.
